Job Summary
T he Cable Technician is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery, maintenance, and reliability of equipment to support operational demands. This role focuses on maximizing equipment uptime, improving maintenance efficiency, and enhancing productivity within the maintenance facility. The Cable Technician plays a key part in ensuring all maintenance activities are performed safely, accurately, and in compliance with company standards and procedures.
Job Description
- Perform maintenance and servicing of assigned equipment according to established maintenance programs and reliability-centered maintenance strategies.
- Record and track maintenance activities, including parts usage, labor hours, and equipment performance history, using the company’s maintenance management systems.
- Ensure adherence to maintenance and quality standards, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Support initiatives to improve maintenance efficiency, asset turnaround time, and overall equipment reliability.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.
- Contribute to projects that enhance cost-effectiveness, such as repair and reuse of parts.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to optimize workflow and reduce non-productive time.
- Participate in root cause and failure investigations as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with competency and training requirements for technical and safety performance.
- Promote and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
S kills Required
- Experience in equipment maintenance, cable handling, or a related mechanical/electrical field is an asset.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems and basic computer applications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Education
- Highschool diploma or GED
Pay Rate
- $24 per hour and higher depending on experience
