Job Description



H&K Group, Inc. is seeking a Claims Administrative Assistant to work with the Risk Manager and Safety Team with claim coordination and serve as a primary contact for staff and employees in various safety-related issues. The ideal candidate is organized, takes initiative, and provides excellent customer service in daily interaction with staff, employees, clients, and vendors.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Performs all work according to OSHA, MSHA, PennDOT, and H&K Safety policies
  • Receive and review new incident reports
  • File Claims with Insurance Carrier
  • Generate and Track claim and insurance billing for auto claims
  • Research / analyze internal records to determine a plan of action for claims
  • Maintain Health & Safety Plans for contracting jobs
  • Create and manage Purchase Orders for the Safety Department as needed
  • Database Management
  • Compliance Assistance
  • Check requests
  • Maintain new hire orientation paperwork as it pertains to the Safety Dept.
  • Track Costs and Incident Reports for one (or more) partner companies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications



Required Skills, Education, and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR one year of related experience and/or training
    • Equivalent combination of education & experience may be considered
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel) and mail merge experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication skills
  • Listening Skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask and organize
  • Ability to utilize appropriate PPE as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

 

 

  Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university
  • Two years of related experience and/or training
  • OSHA, MSHA or other relevant safety certifications

  • Regularly required to talk and hear
  • Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Close vision abilities

 

Work Environment

  • Noise level is usually moderate
  • Hours may exceed 40 per week as needed
  • Potential to work remote on occasion (as needed) after 90 days
  • Frequently works under time constraints
