Job Description

We are representing a highly respected and confidential independent insurance agency located in Columbus, Ohio. This client is well-regarded for their collaborative, supportive environment and specializes in habitational commercial lines coverage, including condominiums, apartment complexes, housing associations, and similar risks.

They are seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to step into a unique Office Manager-style role. This individual will wear multiple hats—handling account servicing, administrative responsibilities, back-end operational support, and providing leadership within the office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and service a book of commercial lines business, primarily focused on habitational risks (condos, apartments, HOAs, etc.).
• Provide day-to-day client service, including policy changes, certificates, renewals, and claims support.
• Oversee administrative and back-office tasks to ensure smooth workflow and operational efficiency.
• Offer leadership within the office, mentoring and supporting staff when needed.
• Act as a "jack of all trades," ready to jump in wherever necessary to ensure client satisfaction and office success.
• Collaborate closely with agency leadership to maintain a positive, team-oriented culture.

Qualifications:

• Preferred 10+ years of experience in Commercial Lines account management within the insurance industry.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of commercial lines coverage, particularly habitational risks.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and client relationship skills.
• Adaptable and flexible with a “can-do” attitude , willing to handle a mix of client-facing, administrative, and leadership responsibilities.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable learning back-end/administrative systems (training will be provided as needed).
