Job Description

The Quote & Contract Manager is a key member of our leadership team, responsible for managing all customer RFQs, cost estimates, and contract documentation from initial inquiry through award and delivery. This individual combines commercial and technical insight—reviewing prints, collaborating with engineering and production, and ensuring every quote and contract aligns with company goals for profitability, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone comfortable working in a small, agile manufacturing business who enjoys owning the full commercial process.

Key Responsibilities:

Quoting & Estimating

  • Review customer RFQs, blueprints, and specifications to determine material, process, and machining requirements.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates including labor, setup, tooling, materials, and outside processing.
  • Coordinate with production and suppliers to confirm pricing and lead times.
  • Prepare and submit customer quotations with clear scope definitions and delivery commitments.
  • Track quote activity, win/loss metrics, and contribute to pricing strategy improvements.

Contract Management

  • Review customer purchase orders, terms and conditions, and flow-downs for compliance with company policies and AS9100/ITAR standards.
  • Negotiate terms, delivery schedules, and change orders as needed.
  • Ensure all contractual documentation is properly executed, filed, and communicated internally.
  • Manage contract changes, pricing revisions, and amendments throughout the lifecycle.

Customer & Internal Coordination

  • Act as the main customer point of contact for commercial matters—pricing, lead time, order status, and documentation.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and purchasing to ensure clear understanding of customer requirements.
  • Support management with forecasting, capacity planning, and margin analysis.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with key aerospace accounts.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred. Relative work experience is essential and more important than education.
  • Experience:
  • 3–7 years in aerospace machining, precision manufacturing, or job-shop estimating.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, materials, and aerospace documentation requirements.
  • Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in Excel and ERP/MRP systems (JobBOSS, ProShop, or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Working understanding of AS9100, ISO 9001, and ITAR.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Hands-on, collaborative, and adaptable to a small-business environment.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with both customers and machinists.
  • Interest in continuous improvement and process standardization.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience)
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Health insurance, paid time off, and 401(k)
  • Flexible, team-oriented work environment
  • $80-$120k base pay depending upon experience level
