Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Data Entry Specialist to join their client's team. The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining patient and organizational data across multiple health record systems. This role supports leadership by generating weekly and monthly reports to highlight operational and patient care trends. The technician ensures data integrity, supports compliance with healthcare regulations, and helps drive improvements in patient engagement and organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enter, review, and update patient demographic, insurance, and service data across multiple platforms
• Generate weekly and monthly data reports to identify important trends (i.e., demographics, timeliness, utilization, and workflow outcomes).
• Assist leadership by summarizing data findings and highlighting potential areas of concern or improvement.
• Perform weekly updates of patient demographic information to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor data quality, research discrepancies, and coordinate corrections with billing, clinical, and administrative staff.
• Support internal and external audits by retrieving and organizing data from required systems.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable privacy/security standards.
Required Skills & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in data entry in a healthcare or adjacent setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably Valant and/or county/state reporting platforms.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets (sorting, pivot tables, charts) or other data reporting tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with sensitive information.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to meet weekly and monthly deadlines.
• Commitment to maintaining HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
Role Information
• Onsite position in Pleasanton, CA
• $20/hr pay rate
• 35-40 hours per week, paid weekly
