Job Description

The Shyne Jewelers story began in 2009 when the founder opened his store right in the heart of Philadelphia's historic South Street District. Jewelry CAD Designer

Responsibilities:

  • Create technical drawings for components by translating photographs, designs, and 3D scan models and/or all components for use in jewelry manufacturing.
  • Review designs and aesthetics with key counterparts in manufacturing to create CAD models that meet manufacturability standards.
  • Coordinate CAD drawings for sample fabrication to support development initiatives.
  • Champion best practices in process improvement for manufacturing ability
  • Coordinate CAD designs and development of product models using Rhinoceros/Matrix CAD software.
  • Create all needed CAD files for project sizing and variants.
  • Establish and monitor individual time-lines, and ensure adherence to overall project timelines and accurate completion of projects. Identify and communicate potential barriers to meeting completion timelines as soon as they arise
  • Responsible for updating work-flow tracking documents and reporting on overall project status in various documents and face to face meetings
  • Communicate effectively to keep team updated on project status, issues, and concerns
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree or GIA cert in related design field ; or comparable work experience
  • 1-2 years experience
  • Relevant knowledge of Jewelry Manufacturing, CAD Design tolerances
  • Proficient in Gemvision Rhino/Matrix software and Keyshot or VRay
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Suite ; Photoshop, illustrator, indesign
