The Company

This fund is known as the standout entrant to commodities trading this decade with $35bn in AUM. Their energy business has been incredibly successful over the last 5 years and are in the midst of a sizeable expansion into the US gas and power space starting from their new base in Houston.

The Role

• You will be the Lead QR supporting their Head Energy Options Trader specialized in CSOs trading. This individual is known for their creativity, personable character and ambitious approach to research and trading.
• Collaborate on research, back testing and implementing new energy options strategies and particularly CSOs.
• Contribute directly to PnL generation through end-to-end implementation of new strategies.
• Learn from one of the most talented Options Traders on the market with the view to become a Trader over time.
• Access to the most renowned platform for commodities options trading in the Multi-strat space.
• The PM is looking for a trading and research partner, not simply quant support.

Your background

• 3+ years' experience conducting research and back testing for options trading at a top firm. Does not need to be specifically applied to gas or power as the PM is open to teaching the specifics of the asset class they're focusing on.
• Deep knowledge of mathematics, coding and options theory. Extra plus if this is applied to energy options.
• Interest to work in a fast-paced environment and progress into a trading seat over time.
• Educational background in a quantitative field with a stellar academic record.
