Overview

A leading general contractor with a long history of delivering complex commercial and institutional projects is seeking an experienced Project Manager specializing in healthcare construction . This firm is recognized for its excellence in construction management, design-build, and general contracting across Indiana and the Midwest.

Job Summary

The Project Manager will oversee healthcare facility projects from planning through close-out, ensuring that work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This position requires strong technical knowledge of healthcare environments and the ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders with professionalism and precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of assigned healthcare construction projects: preconstruction, design coordination, budgeting, procurement, execution, commissioning, and close-out
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts
  • Serve as the main liaison between owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with project scope, safety, and quality standards
  • Oversee change orders, RFIs, and contract administration
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare construction codes, regulations, and infection control standards
  • Conduct site visits, progress meetings, and quality inspections
  • Manage risk identification and mitigation strategies
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project engineers or assistant project managers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of project management experience, including healthcare or institutional construction
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare facility standards (ASHE, FGI Guidelines, life safety, infection control)
  • Proficient in project management and scheduling tools (Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or DBIA preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Construction of hospitals, clinics, or medical office buildings
  • Experience with sustainable building standards (LEED, WELL, etc.)
  • Familiarity with state and federal healthcare construction regulations
