Senior Recruiter

Remote available, but must be local to North Chicago

3–4 month contract to start

$45/HR

Orion Group is hiring a Senior Recruiter to support the Operations division for our pharmaceutical client in North Chicago, specifically within PDS&T (Product Development, Science and Technology) .

This position plays a key role in identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to support critical scientific and operational needs.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to serve as a trusted strategic partner to hiring managers and business leaders. A baseline understanding of scientific terminology (e.g., related to lab and principal research scientists) is helpful for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts for Operations/PDS&T roles.
  • Partner with hiring leaders and HR to develop and execute sourcing strategies.
  • Build and maintain qualified talent pipelines for current and future needs.
  • Manage requisitions, update applicant tracking systems (Taleo), and achieve recruiting metrics.
  • Conduct pre-screening, interviews, and candidate management throughout the hiring process.
  • Prepare and approve offer packages; provide equity and market competitiveness insights.
  • Ensure compliance with state/federal employment laws and company policies.
  • Communicate market trends, analytics, and talent insights to leaders.
  • Establish strong business partnerships with hiring managers and serve as a strategic talent advisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3–5+ years of recruitment experience in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
  • Demonstrated proactive sourcing and recruiting skills.
  • Strong business presence with ability to influence and instill confidence in stakeholders.
  • Prior healthcare/pharmaceutical industry recruitment experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with SmartRecruiters and/or Workday ATS preferred.
