Our client in Grapevine Texas is seeking a Full Stack PHP Symfony Software Developer to join their growing team.
This role is 100% onsite.
This is a full time role and not open to contract or C2C candidates.
US Citizenship or Green Card Required
Background
We are seeking a senior developer to join our in-house engineering team. The platform you’ll support is a large-scale international application that provides features such as user search, in-app communication (letters, chat, photo albums, video messages, video meetings), profile management, accounting, billing, reporting, and a high volume of marketing and transactional email distribution.
The development team supports this platform along with additional management sites, creating and maintaining features and tools that support both users and marketing efforts.
Our current environment consists of legacy PHP code and several custom PHP frameworks in varying stages of migration to Symfony. In this role, you will help maintain the existing codebase, resolve bugs, and implement new functionality. The system is deployed across both datacenter and AWS environments. A major initiative is underway to modernize the full stack, moving from custom PHP and SQL implementations to Symfony and Twig. Strong expertise in Symfony best practices is essential for this role.
We follow Agile methodology with daily stand-ups, sprints, and sprint planning. The broader team includes developers, project managers, system administrators, and QA professionals who collectively support the application and infrastructure.
The current technology stack powers high-traffic user interactions, including real-time chat, in-app messaging, search, billing, and reporting. Core technologies include PHP, Symfony, Twig, ElasticSearch, Redis, RabbitMQ, ReactiveX, WebSockets, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
Future plans include fully migrating to Symfony and then building an API-driven architecture using Symfony’s API Platform with a React front end.
