HR Assistant (Part-Time), Around 10–15 hours per week, flexible schedule

Love human resources support, but not looking to jump into a full time role? Our client in downtown Portland is looking for a temporary, part time candidate to support their HR needs.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a friendly, organized HR Assistant to help keep our client's people processes running smoothly. This is a great part-time opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and has experience working in Paychex—especially setting up document templates. You’ll also handle onboarding and offboarding, help our client develop and fine-tune SOPs, and pitch in on small HR projects as they come up.

What You’ll Do:

  • Set up and manage HR document templates in Paychex
  • Support new hire onboarding and employee offboarding
  • Help document and improve HR procedures (SOPs)
  • Assist with occasional HR projects and admin tasks
  • Keep information organized, accurate, and confidential

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience using Paychex (must-have!)
  • Great attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own time
  • Friendly, professional communication style
  • Prior HR or administrative experience is a plus

Schedule & Work Environment:

  • About 10–15 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule—some work can be done remotely, but we need for you to be local to Portland, Maine as you'll need to come to the office weekly
  • Small, supportive team and a relaxed, get-things-done environment
